Quiet day at home, Shanean has a headache and is weak/fatigued but the nausea is gone. There is a bit of bone pain around the pelvis and legs. This is from the white blood cell booster shot
She is sleeping now, and for all of us that know and love Shanean - if you could cure cancer by sleep alone, Shanean would be juuuust fine
Medical Lesson for the day
Reading all the information booklets handed out at the hospital, it was interesting to see what the "R" in the R-CHOP chemo drug does
This drug is called Rituximab also known as MabThera and when it is injected into her it goes through her body and hunts out the mature "B" bastard cells and attaches itself to them and "marks" them.
When these cells are marked they attract the natural body's immune system which then goes and does its thing by killing these cells off
It was a bit of a scientific breakthrough and has been a great success with response rates. In a study in 2002, for patients under 60 years the complete remission rates were 84% for those having chemo with Rituximab vs 66% for those without it

Good morning parents - the Bear Cub and baby brother are well Brother Bear is asleep and Miss Nessie is dancing around the lounge - refused to wear anything but her new dress - cos it 'swirls'. Auntie TT has just given her some purple fairy floss which she carried around for awhile but soon got the idea of eating it as being preferable to letting it melt in the hand This should now increase the speed of the dance. Marvellous what purple sugar can do. Brother Bear slept until 6AM this morning so hows that Neam?? Now if I can just train him to get out of his cot heat his own bottle make me a coffee then we should get along fine. Pumpy is a bit upset that this house is referred to by Nessie as "Moggie's house" he does not get a mention - however he is very pleased that as she contradicts every thing I say when I said Pumpy has big ears she immediately corrected me and said No Pumpy has little ears - obviously you need to get the childs vision checked. Auntie TT is upset as Celeste says the Beaver in her book is Auntie TT whereas her Daddy is Tinkerbell (kinda suits- especially when he wears those pink wings) and Mummy is Peter Pan because she can fly - makes me wonder Neam what secret you are keeping from us!! OK all good here - hope the quarantine is working for you Neam and you are getting stronger, feeling better and getting some uninterrupted sleep - grab what you can, it will not last as i AM returning the children.
