plateau

Still down at the bottom, bloods are all at zero and are being supported by the transfusions. The doctors say it will still be a few more days yet, she is day 16 and the doctors seem happy to her to stay around like this until at least day 20

The sores are still around, although the roof of her mouth where all the skin fell off is actually OK now its more around the gums and inner lips

She is doing OK - lethargic and generally feeling horrible due to no good cells getting around in the blood stream, the fevers have gone and hopefully the upside is not too far off. She managed to watch a movie on the laptop today and take a few sips of a McDonalds ice coffee

Her hair is all falling out again so she is going through a few pillows and bedsheets

There is a man who has just moved into her ward who doesnt speak a word of english -the guess he is probably from New Caledonia (a French speaking island off the east coast of Australia) - must be tough getting chemotherapy and not being able to communicate with the staff

So the waiting game continues - she looks better than yesterday, but she doesnt really feel that much better. When she is back up she will have a good 2 weeks break before we have to start all over again

Below is a picture of her drip from last night. There were 6 bags of stuff (including blood) all queued up ready to go into her. She calls it a Christmas tree

  1. Hi Shayne,
It doesn't sound good at all and I hope she starts feeling better soon. I can't imagine how she must be feeling. We are thinking about her and you & the kids constantly and praying that she recovers quickly.
