Third day in hospital for the second round of chemo. This time countless drips and we have sort of given up trying to follow what they are - mostly chemo but this time a lot of fluids. The fluids are needed because a side effect of this batch of chemo is a bleeding bladder (they forgot to mention that one at the start) - so they are flushing her out as a precaution
so the side effects are slowly kicking in but nowhere near as bad as the bottom of the last cycle yet
they will let her go home tomorrow (Friday) morning as this treatment cycle is finished - she will have to go back in every second day for blood counts and, same as last time, she may need a transfusion if they get too low and will be re- admitted if she gets too sick
When she gets home she will have to start injecting herself daily to stimulate her stems cells for 10 days after which they will be harvested and frozen. They will then be used after the next and final round of chemo (the one that kills off her bone marrow - hence stem cell transplant to regrow it)
