So far..

Shanean has been home this week which has been good considering we were prepared for 3 weeks of hospital. She feels a bit weak and lethargic but no nausea and she is not confined to bed or anything too drastic

She went for a check up at the hospital ward on Monday where they took her bloods. They did tell us that a blood transfusion may be necessary if the counts were too low, but it was all good, things were holding up and she was sent back home without it being necessary.

So another checkup tomorrow and then a "gated heart pool scan" on Wednesday (to make sure her heart is strong enough for continuing treatment - fairly routine) then the following Tuesday its back to hospital the following Tuesday for the next round of chemo. Its hard keeping up with what is coming up next as things don't seem to be happening as what the prof told us at the outset.

On the good news front things seem to be working again - the pain has reduced dramatically, although she still feels the tumor there a little

Shanean's mum arrived on Saturday which is great, she is still battling a bit of jet lag, but is waking up at 5.00am now instead of 2.00am

Shanean's hair did grow back from last time (curly) but she will lose this again - although it is holding so far

  1. Hi Shayne,
It is a big relieve that she's feeling okay. Hopefully the 2nd round of chemo will have the same outcome – that would be great!
Good luck and keep us informed, we appreciate it.
Still thinking of you guys every day.
