Unfortunately I am starting up the blog again as Shanean's lymphoma has returned after only 6 months.
Shanean's last chemo was February 12 2010 and nearly 7 months to the day we are back at RPA hospital getting ready for a new cycle of chemo which should be starting in an hour or so
About 2 weeks ago Shanean went to her gp with similar abdominal pain as before. When someone finishes treatment for cancer every subsequent ache or pain brings on a bit of paranoia but this time gut instinct kicked in and unfortunately it was right. The gp referred her back to prof Joshua who ordered a pet scan straight away. She called his office for the results on a Friday which he confirmed was "abnormal" and she had to go in to his practice on Monday (making for an interesting weekend)
After seeing him she was given the news and briefly outlined the next treatment cycle
it is only one of the tumors that has returned (previously she had 2) but it has returned aggressively and is causing quite a bit of pain - so whilst it is serious treatment ironically we are looking forward to starting chemo straight away to get some relief (the aggressive ones respond best)
